Abstract
Smart dentistry represents the integration of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) into dental practice, transforming diagnosis, treatment planning, patient
management, and education. AI analyses massive datasets using sophisticated
algorithms and machine learning, which improves the speed and accuracy of the
dental diagnosis like periodontal illnesses, orthodontic abnormalities, oral
malignancies, and dental caries etc. in simple terms, Artificial Intelligence
(AI) serves as a digital assistant that learns from clinical data to help
dentists make evidence-based decisions, predict results, and customize
treatment. Dental processes are changing to become more accurate and efficient
due to applications like AI-powered diagnostic tools, automated radiograph
interpretation, and virtual treatment simulations. This review simplifies the
concept of AI for dental professionals, emphasizing its benefits, limitations,
ethical concerns, and the promising future it holds in making dentistry
smarter, faster, and more patient- centered.
